Long-range strain
How far strain reaches around a buried quantum dot, and what that costs: expanding the strain domain until the answer stops moving, shrinking the electronic domain until it starts to, and the boundary conditions and dot configurations the result depends on.

Lecture 24.1
Long-range strain in InGaAs quantum dots — introduction
compute the strain of a pseudomorphic InAs film with the continuum elasticity solver (opennemo.solvers.elasticity), relax a 7 nm InAs pyramid in GaAs atom by atom with the Keating force field (opennemo.models.mechanics)

Lecture 24.2
Long-range strain — expanding the strain domain
repeat the experiment with open-nemo's finite-element elasticity solver and an effective-mass model on the strained local band edges: the electron and hole ground states of the InAs and the

Lecture 24.3
Long-range strain — reducing the electronic domain
redo both steps for the InAs dome of Lecture 24.2 with open-nemo's finite-element strain and the effective-mass model on the local band edges: the ground states and the band edges at the

Lecture 24.4
Long-range strain — boundary conditions and dot configurations
compute, with open-nemo's finite-element elasticity solver and the effective-mass model on the strained local band edges of the previous lectures: the electron level of the alloyed dome under free, vertically extended free
